Canada Life sub-contractor MSH International has experienced a cyber incident, resulting in the MSH Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) member portal being unavailable.

In a message to PSHCP members, Canada Life apologized and said emergency travel assistance services and comprehensive coverage provider MSH is currently unable to process PSHCP claims or access their status.

“Canada Life and MSH are taking this matter very seriously,” the insurer told members.

“We are working with MSH as they investigate the full impact of the incident and develop their plan to restore service and minimize risk to your information. The priority is to protect your information and ensure that the systems environment is safe before restoring the portal.”

Canada Life’s operations, meanwhile, are not impacted by the MSH outage.

In a separate statement, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat noted: “The Government of Canada is meeting with Canada Life on a regular basis to receive updates and monitor progress.”
