Westland Insurance Group, one of Canada’s fastest-growing independent property and casualty insurance brokers, has today announced the acquisition of two brokerages.

Effective August 01, 2021, Westland now owns National Brokers Insurance Services in Ontario, and Lambert Insurance Agencies in British Columbia.

“We’re thrilled to welcome both brokerages to our Canada-wide network,” said Jamie Lyons, president and chief operating officer of Westland. “Together, we look forward to providing our friendly, expert advice to clients in each of these markets and across Canada as we continue to grow.”

National Brokers Insurance is located in Vaughan, ON, and provides group programs for personal and commercial insurance services across Canada.

Lyons commented: “National has established themselves as a leader in both personal and commercial lines group insurance, with innovative, award-winning approaches to serve their employer and association clients. Aligning their team with our group business division, Westland MyGroup, positions us as a leader in this space across Canada.”

Lambert Insurance Agencies primarily offers home, auto, travel, commercial and farm insurance, along with ICBC drivers’ licensing services. It has two branch locations in Invermere and Radium Hot Springs, BC, and will further establish Westland’s service to clients in the Kootenays region.

Westland, a family-owned company since its founding in 1980, has made a string of acquisitions in 2021. Following these latest deals, the firm now has nearly 2,100 employees, and more than 175 locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
