Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has appointed Anthony Tatulli to the role of head of executive & professional lines for North America.

In his new role, Tatulli will be based in BHSI’s New York office.

Tatulli has more than 30 years of industry experience in both underwriting and claims. He most recently served as head of North America financial lines at AIG. He had also once held the position of global head of financial lines for claims and underwriting at AIG. Tatulli had spent eight years as an attorney at Budd Larner. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and a law degree from Seton Hall School of Law.

“Anthony embodies the excellent capabilities and strong character BHSI seeks in our team members around the globe,” said BHSI president and CEO Peter Eastwood. “He brings deep expertise to our executive & professional lines leadership team, and we are excited to have him at the helm as we continue to grow our financial lines business, providing customers and brokers worldwide with reliable capacity, backed by stellar financial strength.”

This is not the first time BHSI had poached a former AIG executive this year. In January, the company hired Brady Head to serve as senior vice president and product line officer for D&O liability insurance in North America. Prior to joining BHSI, Head was the head of management liability, including commercial D&O liability, fiduciary liability, employment practices liability and crime coverages in the US, Canada, and Bermuda for AIG.
