EPIC announces new hires for employee benefits, private equity teams

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants has hired two new faces, Wesley Carson and Blake Chauvin, who join as the latest members of the company’s employee benefits and private equity teams, respectively.

Carson has been named senior vice-president of employee benefits, and will be based in EPIC’s Sacramento, CA office. In his new role, he will be responsible for employee benefits consulting and the design, placement and management of custom programs. A release said that Carson will primarily focus on serving mid to large group plans.

He has more than 20 years of experience in health and benefits consulting. In addition to health and benefits consulting, Carson also has a background in professional liability, as well as property & casualty insurance. Prior to joining EPIC, he had served as senior vice-president of health and benefits and as vice-president with Aon and Hub International.

Chauvin joins EPIC as an insurance producer based in the company’s Concord, CA office. He will be responsible for risk management consulting and the design, placement and management of property and casualty insurance programs. Chauvin will mainly focus on private equity and M&A clients.

Chauvin also has over 20 years of experience, specializing in risk management and business consulting. He has worked for clients in the technology, energy, healthcare, large retail, and real estate industries. Prior to joining EPIC, he served companies such as Alliant Insurance Services, Zurich North America and CNA Insurance.
