Five organizations have announced senior appointments spanning wholesale brokerage, executive and professional liability, insurance asset management, and insurtech operations - reflecting sustained competition for technical expertise across both global firms and specialist platforms.
CRC Group has appointed Florence Levy (pictured left) as national ExecPro leader within its specialty practice. Executive and professional liability - covering directors and officers, errors and omissions, cyber, and related lines - is among the most technically demanding segments in the wholesale market, and one where demand for experienced leadership has remained consistently strong.
Levy brings more than 20 years of experience in cyber, technology, and professional liability. She joined CRC in 2023 through its acquisition of INSUREtrust, where she had served as executive vice president. In her new role, she will lead the growth and development of CRC Specialty's executive and professional liability practice, working with brokers, carrier partners, and company leadership.
Hippo Holdings has promoted Laura Boettcher (pictured, right) to chief operating officer of the parent company of Hippo Insurance. Boettcher has served as COO of Hippo Insurance since February 2024, having previously held roles as chief of staff to the CEO and director of reinsurance. Before joining Hippo, she was a senior vice president at Guy Carpenter, where she developed reinsurance strategies for personal lines clients. She brings nearly two decades of experience across insurance and reinsurance.
Aon has appointed Steve Dando as chief brokerage officer for its Global Broking Centre (GBC), the firm's wholesale and specialty brokerage business, effective July 1. Dando most recently served as CEO of Aon's Strategy and Technology Group and Inpoint across the UK and EMEA, leading approximately 350 colleagues across advisory, analytics, and portfolio strategy. Prior to Aon, he was global head of brokerage at The Ardonagh Group. In his new role, he will set brokerage strategy for the London-based GBC, strengthen market connectivity, and lead Aon's integration of analytics, capital, and global expertise to deliver risk transfer solutions for clients.
Beach Point Capital Management has appointed Louis DiFranco as global head of insurance solutions, alongside the launch of a new strategic initiative focused on expanding the firm's engagement with insurance companies across its credit platform. DiFranco joins from PGIM, where he served as head of insurance, Americas, and has previously led insurance asset management businesses at AllianceBernstein and Western Asset Management. He brings more than 30 years of experience across asset management, banking, and financial services.
BroadStreet Partners has appointed John Brennan as board chair, effective immediately. Brennan served as CEO of Vanguard for 12 years and as chairman of its board for 11 years. He has also served on the boards of American Express, Guardian Life Insurance Company - where he currently serves as lead director - and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, where he served for 15 years including a period as chairman. He previously chaired the board of trustees at the University of Notre Dame.
Taken together, the five appointments reflect a market in which demand for deep technical expertise - whether in complex liability lines, reinsurance strategy, asset management, or platform governance - continues to outpace supply, and where organizations are moving decisively to secure it.
