Insurance moves: EmPRO, Origin Specialty, Marsh and Coalition

Several leadership changes have been announced at Marsh, Coalition and more.

Marsh swoops for Aon executive

Marsh has appointed Jim Dunn (pictured immediately above, left) as its new US Construction practice leader.

Based in Atlanta, Dunn brings more than 30 years of experience in the construction insurance sector. He joins Marsh from Aon, where he most recently served as chief commercial officer – US Construction and Infrastructure. Dunn will lead Marsh’s efforts to deliver innovative risk management advice and insurance solutions to construction clients.

Michael Pellegrini, US and Canada Specialty leader at Marsh, expressed confidence in Dunn’s leadership and expertise.

Manny Cho joins Coalition as head of West Region

Coalition has appointed Manny Cho (pictured immediately above, right) as head of the West Region, continuing its expansion efforts across North America.

Cho brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held senior leadership roles at Risk Placement Services, AXIS Capital, CNA Insurance and AIG.

EmPRO Insurance expands into Massachusetts

EmPRO Insurance Company, a provider of medical professional liability insurance, has opened its first office in Massachusetts.

To lead this growth, EmPRO has appointed three senior executives: Michael Miller (pictured above, center) as vice president of underwriting and head of the new Boston office; Michael Kubik (pictured above, left) as vice president of business development, and Brian Kriger (pictured above, right) as vice president of underwriting.

Miller, who previously served as vice president of underwriting at Coverys, will manage the Massachusetts operations and drive business growth in the region. Kubik and Kriger bring extensive experience in business development and underwriting, respectively, and will help the company establish strong relationships in the competitive Boston market.

Bruce Shulan, president and CEO of EmPRO, expressed confidence that the company’s focus on personalized service and strong relationships would make it a key player in the Massachusetts market.

Leadership changes at Origin Specialty Underwriters Agency

Origin Specialty Underwriters Agency has announced a series of leadership changes to enhance its strategic positioning in the excess and surplus insurance market.

Charlie Acosta, previously executive vice president and head of underwriting, has been promoted to president of Original Specialty. Acosta brings over 20 years of industry experience, including leadership roles at AIG and StrongArm Tech.

Joining Acosta in the leadership team is Matthew Schardt, appointed as head of casualty. Schardt has two decades of experience in the excess casualty market, having worked at CNA Insurance and AIG.

Blake Wakefield, CEO of Beyond Risk, emphasized Acosta’s proven track record and strategic vision as key assets for the company’s future growth.
