Spot cable ads may be one of the best ways for regional small businesses to advertise to a local audience, but one survey found that a major national insurance brand dominates even this niche ad space.

According to the latest survey of the top 10 spot cable advertisers conducted by Media Monitors, GEICO took first place with a whopping 69,128 spot cable advertisement play counts within the period of January 28, 2019 to February 03, 2019.

GEICO’s lead over other companies in the list is so great, that the insurer has 11,368 more play counts than the second placed firm, tax preparation software company TurboTax with 57,760.

By comparison, the second-highest insurer on the list, Liberty Mutual Insurance, only had 42,011 play counts; Liberty Mutual also placed third on the ranking.

The only other insurer on the list, Progressive, had a play count of 36,514. Coming in at fifth place, Progressive was edged out by fourth placed Taco Bell with 37,168.
