CRC Group has announced the hiring of Matt Zelenc (pictured above) as senior vice president within CRC Specialty’s ExecPro and Healthcare Practice Groups.

Zelenc will be based in CRC’s Chicago office while leading the company’s expansion into Kansas City. In his new role, he will oversee a team specializing in management and professional lines of coverage, including healthcare services, private company management liability, and cyber liability.

Zelenc has more than 20 years of industry experience, having worked with retail agencies and carriers across the country. Before joining CRC Group, he served as a senior vice president focusing on management and professional lines at a wholesale brokerage firm.

He also worked as an underwriting specialist at a commercial property and casualty insurance company, with a focus on management and professional liability. Zelenc’s career began as an in-house broker for CRC in Chicago.

The hiring of Zelenc is part of CRC Group’s broader strategy to expand its expertise in key specialty areas and strengthen its presence in the Midwest through its new Kansas City office.

CRC Group rebrand and expansion

Earlier this month, the company announced a strategic rebrand aimed at unifying its operations and reinforcing its position as an independent wholesale and underwriting firm. The transition saw the TIH brand retired and officially replaced by CRC Group.

Under the rebrand, CRC Group will operate through two divisions – Specialty + Benefits and Underwriting.

In February, the brokerage expanded with the addition of four new professionals to its team, including Ryan Simpson, Raegan Root, and Jessica Calaya for its Denver office and Pierre LePage for its Illinois office.

In January, CRC Group appointed Andrew Grim as senior vice president within the company’s national construction practice group. Grim is based in Texas.
