Aviva Canada has today announced the appointment of Mark LeBlanc as managing director of broker distribution and marketing. He will start his new role on September 09, based out of Aviva Canada’s head office in Markham.

LeBlanc brings over three decades of insurance experience to the crucial role. He most recently served as executive vice president of Ontario and Atlantic Canada at Northbridge Insurance. Prior to that, he held various leadership roles with Northridge, including commercial underwriting director, and senior vice president of distribution.

“Mark is joining the team at a pivotal time,” said Jason Storah, CEO of Aviva Canada. “Our recent half-year results demonstrated that we’ve made some real progress to bringing our business back to profitability, but it’s no secret that insurance brokers are being impacted by an increasing number of market challenges and pressures. I’m confident that Mark will bring the right balance of energy, experience and dedication to this essential role.”

With more than 30-years of industry experience, LeBlanc has a strong understanding of the broker community in Canada, which Aviva Canada has described as “an asset” to the firm and its broker partners.

LeBlanc commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Aviva Canada and to continue to strengthen Aviva’s brand among customers, brokers and the general public. I am especially looking forward to working closely with Aviva’s stellar management team, and its network of broker partners – helping to position them for future success in the constantly evolving Canadian insurance market.”
