AXIS Re, the reinsurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, has announced the promotion of Camilo Rodriguez to head of international credit and surety in its Global Markets division. Rodriguez will continue to work from the Zurich office and report to Ann Haugh, president of Global Markets.

“Camilo has been a vital member of the Global Markets team,” Haugh said. “His knowledge and expertise in the space makes him the perfect choice for the head of international credit and surety. We are excited to see him take on this leadership role in AXIS Re.”

Rodriguez joined AXIS Re in 2012 as a vice president underwriter for credit and bond. Most recently, he served as credit and bond head of Latin America. Prior to joining AXIS, Rodriguez held various managerial positions in the surety space for Compania Mundial de Seguros in Colombia. He also held underwriter and reinsurance roles at Sefuros Confianza.

Rodriguez’s new role is one of two new global roles reporting to Haugh. AXIS Re is currently recruiting to fill its new head of North America mortgage and surety position.
