BOXX Insurance, part of Zurich’s Global Businesses & Operations, has made two senior appointments aimed at tightening the link between cyber claims and customer response while supporting growth, particularly in the US market.
Neal Jardine (pictured, left) has been named chief operating officer (COO) and president of BOXX Canada, while Elizabeth Kim (pictured, right) has been appointed president of BOXX USA.
Jardine assumes responsibility for global operations and the Canadian business after previously leading BOXX’s claims and cyber intelligence functions, a role he has held since 2022. His new remit brings operations, risk intelligence and claims leadership under a single executive.
“As cyber risk becomes more dynamic, the value of cyber insurance has permanently shifted from mere capacity to helping customers stay ahead of threats and the speed and quality of the response when a crisis hits,” said Vishal Kundi, CEO and co‑founder of BOXX Insurance.
“With our global risk intelligence and claims leadership also under Neal’s direction, we are ensuring that the insights we gather from real‑world incidents are instantly fed back into our day‑to‑day operations and, most importantly, that our customers receive faster, more seamless support when they need it most,” Kundi said.
The move reflects a wider trend in the cyber market toward closer integration of underwriting, security services and claims, as carriers look to use incident data to refine risk selection and demonstrate value beyond indemnity. BOXX, founded in 2018 as a cyber‑focused MGA and known for its bundled “Cyberboxx” offerings for small businesses and individuals, has positioned itself around that model.
Zurich completed its acquisition of the Toronto‑based insurtech in 2025, describing the deal as a way to strengthen its retail and SME cyber capabilities globally, while allowing BOXX to continue operating under its own brand. Jardine’s expanded role is the latest step in bringing BOXX’s operating structure into line with those ambitions.
Kim’s appointment as president of BOXX USA comes as the company looks to build its presence in the world’s largest cyber insurance market. An attorney, she joins from senior roles at Hiscox and Gallagher Re, bringing experience from both primary and reinsurance perspectives.
Kim will be responsible for driving US market growth, expanding distribution partnerships and rolling out BOXX’s embedded cyber solutions to a broader customer base.
“The US market represents a massive growth engine for BOXX, and our products are gaining traction,” Kundi said. “Liz Kim is a proven leader with an exceptional cyber insurance pedigree. Her deep product understanding and knowledge of the complex US insurance landscape comes at a time when businesses and consumers alike are demanding smarter, more proactive cyber protection.”
The timing of the hire coincides with a more competitive phase in the US cyber market. After sharp rate increases and tightening capacity in 2021–22, premium growth has moderated and more entrants have arrived, shifting the focus toward product design, service and distribution rather than price alone.
BOXX’s emphasis on packaged prevention, detection and response tools, delivered through digital channels and partners, is likely to be central to Kim’s strategy as she engages with brokers, MGAs and affinity distributors.
