BrokerLink acquires Ontario-based brokerage, lead generation website

The acquisition expands BrokerLink’s influence in southern Ontario, as well as improves its online lead generation capabilities

Major property and casualty insurance brokerage network BrokerLink announced July 5 that it has successfully acquired Cornerstone Insurance Brokers Ltd.

Cornerstone Insurance’s operations in Woodbridge, Markham, Aurora and Barrie will be integrated under BrokerLink’s brand following the acquisition.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ninety of Cornerstone Insurance’s employees will join BrokerLink’s fold. Cornerstone Insurance CEO Wendy DaSilva as well as President and Chief Operation Officer Peter DaSilva were also assimilated by BrokerLink to assist in the transition.

BrokerLink also acquired the brand rights to BeWiser Insurance Brokers Inc., which was owned and operated by Cornerstone Insurance Brokers Ltd. BeWiser Insurance’s website, BeWiser.ca, hard-to-place customers can coordinate with insurance professionals to find suitable coverage.
