DUAL North America has announced the appointment of Peter Gosselink as executive vice president of its fine art program.

In his new role, Gosselink will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development and growth of DUAL's fine art program, which offers specialized coverage for both commercial and private art collections and stock in trade. Gosselink will also focus on expanding DUAL's fine art portfolio by focusing on creating unique solutions for the company's brokers.

DUAL's fine art program offers tailored insurance products designed for a wide range of art collections and stock in trade, encompassing paintings, sculptures, archaeological materials, sports memorabilia, antiques, and other items of significant artistic or historical value. The program not only covers domestic and international risks but also provides additional coverage options, such as terrorism, flood, earthquake, defence costs, restoration, and event cancellation.

Working in collaboration with a panel of insurers, the fine art program features primary limits of $30 million and excess limits of $50 million, with a minimum attachment point of $25 million for excess placements.

“We are delighted to have Peter join to drive our Fine Art program forward,” said Jon Knouse, chief property officer at DUAL. “His extensive knowledge and deep understanding of the industry make him a valuable addition to the team that will be instrumental in the continued growth of the program.”

Gosselink is well-versed in risk management for fine arts, including a diverse array of collections and jewelry. Before joining DUAL, he served as a senior underwriter II, inland marine – fine art specialist, and national product lead at Tokio Marine America Insurance company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art and art history from Franklin & Marshall College.

“I am thrilled to be joining the DUAL team and providing a quality Fine Art program to our broker network,” Gosselink said. “I look forward to making new connections and leveraging my years of expertise and passion for art to provide the highest level of service to our valued partners.”

Gosselink is the latest addition to DUAL’s roster. In May, the company named Jim Jinhong head of capacity and product development, D.J. Postles executive vice president of underwriting for NationBuilders Insurance Services, and John Kopach executive vice president of liability.
