FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers, has appointed company veteran Allan J. Johnson to the new role of staff senior vice president and head of power generation.

Johnson, a 35-year company veteran, has more than 20 years of high-hazard industry experience in underwriting and loss prevention. In his new role, he will lead FM Global’s power generation industry strategy and business planning and oversee the global delivery of the company’s specialized products and services aimed at that sector.

Johnson’s appointment follows FM Global’s recent announcement that it has launched a new specialty industries division focused on the forest products and chemical sectors.

Johnson joined FM Global in 1985 as a loss prevention engineering consultant. He has since served as divisional manager of the Western division, senior account manager for forest products, client service manager for Dallas operations, and vice president and operations manager, forest products, for Latin America operations. Most recently, he served as operations senior vice president of FM Global’s forest products operations.
