The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) has recognized some of the top-performing brokers and brokerages in its annual Awards of Excellence.

The finalists for the 2016 awards were announced this week, with the winners to be revealed at the Awards of Excellence Gala, which will take place during the annual IBAO Convention in Toronto this month.

The awards, which the IBAO holds every year, highlight the achievements and initiatives of the association’s most outstanding members.

Finalists were evaluated by an independent panel that “understands what matters to consumers and recognizes best-in-class practices”. This year’s panel included insurance company representatives, an outside vendor and a consumer.

Colin Simpson, the association’s CEO, described the awards as one of the most exciting events at the convention, adding: “It’s a time when Ontario brokers come together to honour and recognize those who have given back to their communities and to the industry. This year in particular, we have much to celebrate.”
