Lockton has appointed Fiona Terry (pictured) as managing director and national practice leader of its Canadian Global Solutions team, adding a two-decade veteran of Marsh and WTW's multinational client practices to the brokerage's build-out just weeks after hiring Aon Canada's former president and CEO to lead its retail business.
Terry joins from WTW, where she spent more than three years as director, global client advocate, working out of Montreal. Before that, she spent six years at Marsh Canada across a series of multinational client roles, rising to senior vice president and multinational leader for Canada. Earlier in her career, she held corporate insurance roles at CGI Group and a brief stint at Aon as associate account executive, and started at Marsh Canada in 2004 as an insurance assistant before moving up through vice-president roles.
The appointment follows last month's hire of Stéphane Lespérance as chief executive of Lockton's Canadian business. Lespérance spent 24 years at Aon Canada, most recently as president and CEO since 2025, and chairs the board of governors for the Insurance Institute of Canada.
"The addition of Fiona to our team is a significant milestone as we build out our specialized advisory capabilities in Canada," Lespérance said. "Fiona has a deep and well-recognized expertise in the large global and international account space. She brings our clients in-depth, highly relevant knowledge backed by a solid market reputation, both from a client recognition perspective and from an insurer standpoint."
Terry's background centres on complex international placements and cross-border regulatory navigation, according to Lockton, positioning her to serve Canadian multinationals facing increasingly volatile global risk conditions. She was named a Power Broker in 2022.
"We are building a world-class Global Solutions team," said Michael Lombardi, president of Lockton Global Solutions. "The addition of Fiona in Canada helps Canadian multinational corporations face highly complex, multi-jurisdictional risks that require more than just off-the-shelf coverage. Fiona's attention to detail and outstanding technical abilities have consistently helped her resolve the most intricate client issues. Her hands-on advisory approach perfectly aligns with Lockton's independent, client-first philosophy."
The two hires mark the latest steps in Lockton's push to build out a Canadian-first advisory team, part of a broader expansion for the privately held brokerage, which operates in more than 160 countries with nearly 15,000 associates globally. In Canada, Lockton operates as Lockton Brokers, ULC.
