Specialist insurer Markel International has a new senior underwriter.

Making the switch from MS Amlin, where he served as class underwriter, Peter Dickel brings more than two decades of experience in accident and health lines. He will join Markel International’s PACE (personal accident, contingency, entertainment) unit on November 01.

“Peter has a strong market presence and broker following in his class of business, and we look forward to him becoming part of our team,” commented managing director James Leach.

The incoming underwriting hire, who was also with W R Berkley and Torus, will be working with Johan Haggo and Joanne Barry of the existing PA group.
