Insurance broker and consultant NFP has acquired the Ottawa, Ontario-based Capital Benefit Financial Group, which specializes in group benefits and retirement consulting.

Following the transaction, Capital Benefit principals Marc Lajoie and Leo Grace will join NFP as managing director and director of Eastern Ontario, respectively. Both will report to NFP Canada president Marty Shaw.

“We’re happy to welcome the Capital Benefits team to the NFP family,” said Shaw. “The team brings strategic insight on employee engagement with respect to benefits and retirement needs in Ontario, which enables NFP to strengthen its current capabilities and expand its presence in Canada.”

“We are excited to join NFP,” added Lajoie. “Building on NFP’s robust set of group benefits and retirement offerings, we expect to deepen current relationships and offer new services to broaden NFP’s portfolio across Canada.”
