Sedgwick has appointed Steven Saarimaki to serve as executive general adjuster for the company’s major and complex loss division in Canada.

“With his history overseeing and investigating significant and complex loss cases, Steven brings decades of experience to our team,” said Sedgwick VP of Canada major and complex loss Lee Powell. “He is a knowledgeable, trusted expert, and we are excited to welcome him to the Sedgwick family.”

Saarimaki has 28 years of loss adjusting experience, and expertise in marine, industrial and commercial property claims. He is experienced in the transportation and liability lines of business, a release said. Saarimaki is a licensed independent insurance adjuster in Ontario, and holds the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) designations. He is also a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada.

“I am excited to begin this next chapter with the stellar team at Sedgwick and to continue serving the major and complex claims needs of the Ontario community,” said Saarimaki.

Last month, Sedgwick consolidated its training programs under the Sedgwick University name, aligning all its in-person and virtual training courses while expanding its offering for developing and attracting new talent. The University launches this year, with more details to be posted on the company’s website.
