Westland Insurance buys two Saskatchewan brokerages

There has been no easing off the gas pedal for Westland Insurance Group as it continues its aggressive growth strategy.

The independent property & casualty insurance brokerage announced on Monday (June 06) the closing of two new acquisitions in Saskatchewan: HK Insurance in Regina, and Smith Agencies in Melfort. Both areas are new for Westland Insurance and support the brokerage’s nationwide expansion strategy.

Both HK Insurance (established in 2001) and Smith Agencies (founded in 1976) provide auto, residential, commercial, agriculture, and specialty insurance services. Through the deals, both effective June 01, 2021, Westland Insurance has gained 23 employees in Saskatchewan.

The family-owned brokerage, which was founded in 1980l now has more than 170 locations and over 2,000 employees in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. The firm remains committed to expanding its services, which include home, business, farm, life, and auto insurance to clients from coast to coast in Canada.
