Economical Insurance to utilize CSIO’s digital insurance proofs

Economical Insurance is the latest insurer to adopt and implement the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations’ (CSIO) digital insurance proof system, My Proof of Insurance (MPOI).

With MPOI as Economical’s preferred solution for digital insurance policy documents, the insurer will be able to deliver the proofs to its customers in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic region. Customers can request personal and individually rated commercial auto policy documents and liability slips via email, and the liability slip can even be stored in mobile wallets in the form of an eSlip.

“We continue to inspire confidence by listening and responding to feedback from customers and brokers, with the goal to make insurance simpler and more sustainable,” said Economical Insurance SVP, CIO, and CSIO board member Tatjana Lalkovic. “With our customer experience rapidly becoming more digital, we’re pleased to now offer the option for customers who prefer electronic documents instead of print.”

MPOI launched in early 2018. Since its release, support for the digital auto insurance proof system has grown year-over-year, CSIO said in a statement. In 2020, the number of MPOI eSlips and documents sent saw a 400% increase compared to 2019.

“CSIO’s My Proof of Insurance helps us provide customers a convenient option to access their insurance documents digitally,” commented Lalkovic. “This advancement reflects our commitment to drive innovation in the broker channel and to help our broker partners empower their customers with reliable and innovative service.”
