Independent insurance brokerage Westland Insurance has acquired Harvest Insurance in Steinbach, MB.

Harvest Insurance is a locally-owned and operated insurance broker that has been in business for over 60 years. It offers personal and commercial insurance products, including coverage for homes, cottages, farms, restaurants, apartments, personal vehicles, commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles and watercraft. The Harvest Insurance team is led by owner-partners Gerald Banman and Orville Giesbrecht.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Harvest Insurance to the Westland family,” said Westland Insurance president and chief operating officer Jamie Lyons. “Clients in Steinbach—Manitoba’s third largest city—trust Harvest’s advisors for their expertise and local perspective. We’re proud to have Harvest Insurance join our growing national brokerage.”

According to a company release, Westland now has more than 180 locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.

Last month, Westland Insurance acquired Insurance Unlimited in Mississauga, ON. Like Harvest Insurance, Insurance Unlimited also offers personal and commercial insurance services.
