Dale Underwriting Partners has officially named Will Curran as its new head of global property reinsurance, starting March 11, 2024.

Curran brings to the role nearly three decades of industry experience, with a background in leadership positions within global property reinsurance lines.

His most recent role was as active underwriter for Tokio Marine Kiln Syndicate 557, where, from 2019 to 2022, he also took on responsibilities as head of reinsurance, overseeing the company’s global reinsurance underwriting operations.

Before his tenure at Tokio Marine Kiln, Curran oversaw the reinsurance division at Wellington.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me to be joining Dale Underwriting Partners at a significant time in the company’s history. I hope to use my experience to enhance the team’s offering in the global property market and to build Dale’s Risk excess of loss portfolio,” Curran said.

Curran’s appointment is part of Dale Underwriting Partners’ strategic move to enhance its global property reinsurance business from its London base. He will directly report to Dominic Peters, an active underwriter at Dale.

“Will has a proven track record of providing an exemplary client service and we are delighted to welcome him to Dale,” Peters said.

Peters further noted the importance of Curran’s role in boosting Dale’s global presence, alongside enhancing the leadership team with Tony Forder as head of North America catastrophe and Arran Wright as class underwriter and head of Ceded Re.

“This appointment comes at a time when we feel we are in a strong position to now capitalize on current market conditions, optimize our sustainable growth plans to drive market leadership within the property reinsurance lines further expand our clients and broker proposition,” Peters said.
