Global engineering consultancy Thornton Tomasetti has announced that Tracey Cookson (pictured) has joined its property loss and forensics teams in London as associate director.

The teams provide adjusters, re-insurers, brokers, and underwriters with engineering-based analysis and performance assessments of structural and material failures due to natural and manmade hazards. Cookson will be responsible for increasing Thornton Tomasetti’s profile with current and new clients who require technical expertise in pre-loss risk analysis, post-loss claims, emergency response, and forensic investigations.

Cookson joins from Aviva Insurance in London, where she was senior manager of technical claims services and responsible for multiple claims teams. She is experienced in overseeing large and complex construction, engineering, corporate, and commercial claims, and has a strong knowledge of both the London and international markets.

“I am delighted to be joining a firm with such strong leadership in the property loss and forensics fields,” Tracey said. “I’m particularly excited to contribute my talents and skills to helping Thornton Tomasetti achieve its ambitious growth goals. I look forward to working with such a progressive and innovative organisation that has the ability to offer clients a full range of services across several disciplines anywhere they need us.”

“We are thrilled to have Tracey join Thornton Tomasetti,” said Bruce Arita, senior vice president of property loss and forensics. “Her superb credentials and breadth of expertise will dovetail with our collaborative team approach to solving client needs as well as our ambitious goals for the future. We look forward to the new dynamics that will result from having her as a key member of the firm.”
