The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is hosting a luncheon event, inviting all stakeholders in the home, car and business insurance industries to participate.

The event, to be held on February 07 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, will feature IBC president and CEO Don Forgeron, who will provide remarks during the event.

Forgeron will address the top priorities facing the industry, specifically:

  • Adopting a whole-of-society approach to mitigate the effects of a changing climate,
  • Creating competitive and sustainable auto insurance markets across the country, and
  • Modernizing regulation so that it supports customer-focused innovation in our digital world.

IBC has been supportive of recent efforts by British Columbia and Newfoundland & Labrador to review (and potentially reform) their respective auto insurance systems. The bureau has called for the opening of the auto insurance market to competition for BC, and the implementation of a minor injury cap on pain and suffering awards for NL.
