Magna Insurance of Calgary, an insurance brokerage specializing in commercial property and casualty insurance, has revealed that its First Annual Charity Golf Classic was a resounding success.

The event, held on Thursday, August 15, 2019, managed to raise $32,000. Proceeds from the event will be given to the charity organization Renfrew Educational Services, which provides learning opportunities for more than 650 special needs children in the Calgary area.

“The event was a great success and we can’t thank our sponsors enough for their support of our first tournament,” Magna Insurance founder and president Chris Sikorski said in a statement.

Sikorski has been nominated as a Canadian Broker of the Year for 2017 and 2018, and was recognized as a Canadian Young Gun award winner in 2019 by Insurance Business Canada.

Due to how immensely successful this year’s event was, Magna Insurance announced in a release that it is already making plans for next year’s tournament, to be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

The brokerage is inviting those interested in participating in the games or sponsoring the event to email the company for more details.
