Zurich North America has announced the appointment of Sonia Kundi as Canada chief risk officer. Kundi (pictured above) will report to Colleen Zitt, North America chief risk officer, and will be a member of Zitt’s leadership team. Kundi will also be a member of the Zurich Canada executive committee and will be based in the company’s Toronto office.
In her new role, Kundi will ensure that risk frameworks and controls are in place and executed effectively to mitigate risk to the company. She will also provide risk reporting and support to Canada’s Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.
Kundi has more than 15 years of global insurance experience. Prior to joining Zurich, she served as a senior enterprise risk management leader at Aviva Group. She has served in both market and group roles in the UK, Ireland, Canada, and Australia.
Kundi is a RIMS Certified Risk Management Professional and a member of the Canadian Property & Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation’s Risk Officer’s Forum Advisory Committee.
