With more Canadians working from home and spending time online, Intact Financial is expanding its insurance offerings to better serve homeowners during the pandemic.

The insurer is now providing homeowners’ insurance policyholders an option to add identity theft coverage and cyber protection at discounted prices – perfect for those working remotely at home. Both existing and new customers can add Intact’s “my Identity” services for a limited time.

Intact is also offering policyholders free access to online mental health and wellbeing programs through digital employee welfare platform LifeSpeak.

The company is also encouraging customers to sign up for usage-based auto insurance to save more on their premiums while their driving habits take a break. The insurer’s “my Drive” usage-based auto insurance program provides customers with personalized feedback and tips to help improve their safe driving – and potentially decrease their insurance costs by as much as 25%; customers will receive a 10% discount just for signing up to the program.

"During a time where so many are working from home, customers are searching for added value and thinking about their well-being," said Intact Financial Canadian operations president Louis Gagnon. "We want customers to have peace of mind and we are focused on supporting their changing needs.”
